Closing UST’s: The Brief Facts
Was your underground storage tank (UST) installed before December 22, 1988? If the answer is “yes”, then you must select one of the following three options:
- Upgrade your tank by adding spill, overfill and corrosion protection.
- Replace your tank with a new tank that has spill, overfill, and corrosion protection.
- Properly close or decommission your tank using certified personnel.
